Effect of recession

Now a days its been heard from few people that the recession time is comming to and end.

Well its that true then congrats to all. So i would like to know how much you suffer or altered your regular style of living in order to deal with the recession period.

As of me i was unemployed nearly the entire period of around 1 year as i lost my job in aug-08 and got a fresh job in apirl-09 so it was like a complete year of no work and ZERO earning.

How was your experience during past 1 and half year.
